Board) / XII / 12th - Results 2008
Wednesday, 09 May 2008 - The results for the XII standard
state board examinations declared on May 09 (Friday) at 09:30
AM. A total of 5,87,994, students appeared for the Class XII
examinations this year in schools across the State.
Declaring the results here on Friday, Director of Government
Examinations Vasanthi Jeevanandam said 87.3 per cent of the
girls had passed, while boys recorded a pass percentage of 81.3.

The overall pass percentage of students who took the State Board
Class XII (HSC) examinations this year has gone up to 84.4 per
cent. An increase of 3.4 percentage points from last year’s
81 per cent, this is the highest pass percentage recorded in
the State since 2003.

The results were declared early
to help students obtain their mark sheets soon and concentrate
on their college admissions, he said. Among students who took
Tamil as their first language,

Higher Secondary School, Tiruchengode (Namakkal), and
M.Rajeshkumar
of St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Chengalpattu,
secured the first rank in the State with a total of 1,182 marks
each.”

There has been a sharp increase in the number of centums this
year, particularly in Mathematics. The number of centums in

A total of 60 students have scored full marks in Computer Science,
739 candidates have scored centums in Accountancy and 291 in
Business Mathematics.
The mark sheets will be made available in schools before May
