Campus connect
Sharing knowledge: A.S. Rao, Department Head, Biotechnology,
Bharathidasan University, and C.W. Choi, Department Head,
Biology and Medical Science, Pai Chai University, Republic
of Korea, exchanging an MoU.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the heads
of the Department of Biotechnology, Bharathidasan University,
and the Department of Biology and Medicinal Science, Pai Chai
University, Republic of Korea, recently for exchange of postgraduate
students and Ph.D scholars of biotechnology of both the sides
to pursue their research work. The MoU was signed during the
recent visit of the Head, Department of Biology and Medicinal
Science, C. W. Choi, and Dean, Fac ulty of Science, Pai Chai
University, Kim, to Bharathidasan University. The Head of the
Department of Biotechnology of Bharathidasan University, A.
S. Rao, and Mr. Choi signed the MoU.
Pai Chai and Bharathidasan universities will also exchange regular
faculty members of biotechnology to undertake collaborative
research. The MoU, signed at the initiative of the vice-chancellor,
Bharathidasan University, M. Ponnavaikko, will also try to establish
a Korean language centre in Bharathidasan University. A. Ganapathi
of Bharathidasan University who is now in Korea as a visiting
professor played a key role in bringing the two sides together
for the MoU, a press release of the university said.
